Welcome
Our developing forest garden farm in Senegal is founded on the principles of permaculture. Nestled in a remote and beautiful forest, we are actively cultivating a lush, biodiverse environment filled with native plants and vibrant wildlife.
The goal is to create a model for sustainable living where we can demonstrate living in harmony with the land. The environment is exceptionally quiet, offering a deep connection to the sounds and rhythms of nature. This is a place for learning, growth, and the quiet appreciation of a thriving ecosystem.
Activities
There is always something to do, to discover, or simply to be. Depending on your mood, you can get involved in various ways or just relax.
Chillout: Listen to the sounds of nature, stroll through the forest garden, or find a quiet place to relax.
Discover: Learn more about permaculture and sustainable cultivation, discover the diverse flora and fauna of our forest garden, and listen to the sounds of the bush.
Social: Play board and card games, or interact with locals to learn more about their culture.
Music: We have a handpan, a drum, and various flutes waiting to be played. Feel free to bring your own instrument as well.
Sports: For exercise, there is a trampoline and the opportunity to play badminton.
Contribute: Anyone who wants to lend a hand is very welcome. There is always something to do: growing plants, pruning trees, mulching, caring for our chickens, or helping with craft projects.
Location & Travel Information
Our farm is located in Casamance, the southern region of Senegal, surrounded by unspoiled nature. The journey here is part of the experience, leading you through beautiful landscapes and local villages.
From Ziguinchor or Bignona:
- Take a vehicle towards Kafountine or Abene, but get off at Bandajikaki.
From Dakar:
- Take a vehicle to Ziguinchor or the ferry to Cap Skirring (near Ziguinchor).
- From there, follow the description above.
From Gambia:
- Travel to Seleti, a border village in Senegal.
- Important: Do not use the “Kartong” border crossing. There is no official border post on the Senegalese side, so you will not receive an entry stamp.
- In Seleti, take a vehicle towards Kafountine or Abene, but get off at Bandajikaki.
Please contact us by call or WhatsApp when you pass through Diouloulou - but at the latest upon your arrival in Bandajikaki. This way, we can discuss the final kilometers of your journey and, if necessary, pick you up.
Visitors are always welcome. Just let us know a few hours in advance if you would like to visit us. We generally do not accept money for accommodation, food, or pick-up. If you still need to buy something, you have the last opportunity to do so in Bandajikaki or Kabadio. After that, there are no more shops - welcome to the bush :-)
